As August comes to an end, your wardrobe isn’t the only thing you should be transitioning to fall. Your home is great space to switch up too! Most people tend to think that you have to spend a lot of money on your home to give it a fresh, new look. However, there are actually simple and budget-friendly tweaks that you can make to liven up your haven. I love shopping at retailers, like Walmart, Target, H&M and Anthropologie for pieces that look amazing but are easy on the wallet. They make it so easy to get your home ready for fall entertaining as well as the holidays. Scroll on for my favorite fall decor finds and tips for decorating.
1. Change out your pillows
If you have a small budget for a seasonal home makeover, changing out your space with fall-ready throw pillows will make a world of difference. Target has some super cute options from boucle fabrics to plaid prints for under $30. If you can spend a little more, I love these faux fur ones from Anthropologie.<
2. Layer in chunky knit throws
If you spend large amounts of time at home or even on the weekends, consider swapping out your throws for chunky knit textures or plush faux fur blankets. I love how they make a room feel cozier even if you leave everything else the same. <
3. Sprinkle in fall foliage
I love filling my home with white flowers during spring and summer – but as we get into the thick of fall, I’ll trade them out for pampas grass and other dry florals. If you prefer fresh flowers, anything with eucalyptus, mums, sunflowers or pansies are all fair game. And if you want to do the bare minimum, simply add a fun wreath to your front door.<
4. Decorative Objects
Fall is my favorite season, but I never go overboard with seasonal decor. I prefer subtle touches that make a big statement. That usually translates into decorative pumpkins, sculptural candle holders in fall colors and unique objects. For an inkling of Halloween, this skull candle holder is super chic.<
5. Candles
Candles are always a brilliant way to set the mood for your home. Plush throws and beautiful fall foliage with a warm-scented candle is a match made in heaven. My favorite autumn aromas include pumpkin, vanilla, cedar, spices, and sandalwood. You can find them at all price points below.<
6. Entertaining Essentials
Many holiday festivities kick off in the fall, which makes entertaining a key element of the season. It’s always so fun to swap out your usual kitchen essentials for seasonal ones. Whether it’s colored glassware or a wood serving board, you can really up the ante of the party.<
